Hypnosis

The photographic journey in the unconscious

Hypnosis the book

Preface by Guy Tal

The author, Antonio Aleo, describes an introspective trip in the intimate and deep human unconscious.

The story is entirely conceived across dreamlike woodland landscapes and abstract nature in which the author lives.

The book is divided into three main chapters, the first starts with a dark, claustrophobic and disquieting world of the unconscious, considered the cave of desire.

The other two chapters keep changing with the gradation of tone and the brightness with it.

Browsing the pages, the pictures become more colored and the landscape changes, it becomes dreamlike and instills positivity and courage, the water is a symbol of vital force.

Mutant nature finds the highest level of our psyche, the color is a small hint in monochrome in which the soul finds inner peace.

In Hypnosis, despite the transformation of the visual part, the seasons don’t exist; the theme isn’t the aesthetic beauty of landscape, but the color and the tonal contrasts that affect the mood.

The author tells through the images his hypnotic personal experiences, guiding us towards the exploration of areas that are not inaccessible to senses, where the mind preserves its deepest secrets.

Hypnosis will feature the best woodfree coated paper made in Italy, combined with the best offset printing technology available (state-of-the-art photovoltaic plant) which shows at first the due respect for the territory in which it is produced and also ensure the best results in the worldwide publishing standards.

Hypnosis is conceived to be one of the best authorial photobooks of 2022 and an important must-have piece in your book collection.

On Landscape

"All of the images originate in forest landscapes, but this book is not just comprised of a series of pretty woodland photos. Instead, it's a thoughtful and deep invitation to explore your inner self and unconscious mind."

Nature Vision

In truth, I could simply copy and paste Guy’s preface, allowing it to stand as a review of this book by itself, with little more to add. But art is subjective, and everyone will have a different opinion on the work presented in Antonio Aleo's Hypnosis. Further, there is a story here of healing, and of suffering, which is elevated through not only Antonio’s introduction but, more importantly, the photographs themselves.
